Lignano Sabbiadoro is a renowned tourist resort, and the numbers speak for it: it is certified that, annually, it is visited by about 4 million tourists. The name ‘Sabbiadoro’, as can be easily understood, refers to its wonderful coastline, and its splendid warm and temperate climate, which make it a ‘happy island’ in Friuli.
The coast of Lignano is more than 8 kilometers long, with numerous establishments scattered on the beautiful beaches, all very well equipped and also suitable for families with dependent children. Moreover, there are also two free beaches and, for those traveling with animals, also two paid beaches for our 4-legged friends: the Doggy Beach and Duke’s Beach.
Here you can really devote yourself to every type of seaside activity: sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, but also activities on the sand such as beach soccer or beach volleyball, with numerous international competitions hosted here.
Even the promenade of Lignano is a suggestive place to spend the afternoons, given the splendid landscape that opens up to the eyes of tourists. On the waterfront (officially Lungolaguna Trento) there is also a long stretch of cycle path, with some return to the inside of the Marano lagoon, for suggestive scenic stops.
Landscape, it should be specified, whose beauty has been certified by the prestigious recognition of the Blue Flag, which in addition to the landscape also rewards the numerous and efficient tourist infrastructures of this municipality. Nice to visit on foot and also by boat. In Lignano, in fact, there are numerous small tourist marinas, which further increase the appeal of this Friulian town for your summer seasons!
Culture also has its space in Lignano, with particular attention to events. You will have understood that we are talking about the Alpe Adria Arena, a modern structure located next to the town hall, the historical site of the Festivalbar for some dates between the 1992 and 2005 editions.
Very interesting for tourists is also the Terrazza a Mare, a structure inaugurated in 1972 that stands out in the center of the town, and which includes solarium services as well as numerous bars and shops. We also recall the presence of the historic Acquasplash, the first thematic water park in Italy in chronological order, and the Strabilia Amusement Park, one of the most important in our country.
Finally, do not miss to visit the splendid Punta Verde Zoo Park, a biodiversity park with about 1,200 specimens of fauna belonging to 200 different species, which can be observed in their natural habitat. It is one of the main attractions of Lignano Sabbiadoro.
